What PopJelly collects from your TV, why, and how long it is kept.
What the app reports
While PopJelly is open it checks in with popjelly.app about every ten minutes. A check-in includes a random device ID, the TV's model and software versions, screen size, free storage and memory, the type and strength of the network connection, whether a VPN is active, how long the app and TV have been running, the TV's clock, playback health (buffering, errors, and the name of the channel or movie playing), when the channel list and guide were last refreshed, and your account username and subscription status (expiry date and connection limit). It never includes your password, the address of your service, or stream links.
Why we use it
To keep the app working, to deliver messages and updates, to approve add-ons such as Movies, and to help you quickly when you contact support: we can see why a channel will not play or why the picture buffers without asking you to read out settings.
Support calls
During a support call we may turn on live support, which makes the TV check in every few seconds for up to an hour, and run actions such as refreshing the channel list, clearing the app's cache, restarting the app, or playing a channel. We may ask to see your screen: the TV asks you first, only PopJelly's own screen is captured, and the picture is deleted after seven days. Reports you send from Help & Support include recent app events with addresses and logins removed.
How long we keep it
Check-in history is kept for up to 30 days and shared screens for 7 days. Your device record and problem reports are kept while you are a customer, and you can ask us to delete them.
Website logs
Our hosting provider records standard technical logs, such as IP addresses and request times, when the website is visited.
